Latest in Mexico violence! Tourists Should Use Extreme Caution When Traveling!

Travel Security

Here is the latest in Mexico violence. In the travel security story below, tourists were traveling from Acapulco when their tour bus was ambushed by Gunmen!

While the resort towns like Acapulco are relatively safe in Mexico, anything can happen on the highways. In this story of poor travel security, the gunmen stormed the bus and, thankfully, ordered the passengers off; killing the driver an his young assistant. They then set the bus on fire!

The attack was likely motivated by some sort of reprisal for a perceived wrongdoing by the bus driver and/or the assistant.

They may have been moving tourists through that area of Mexico without paying for “protection” from the local cartel.

Better travel security could have kept the tourists from experiencing this undoubtedly horrifying incident.

ACAPULCO, Mexico –  Witnesses in the Mexican resort of Acapulco say a band of gunmen chased passengers off a bus and then killed the driver and his 14-year-old assistant. The attackers set the bus on fire and fled.

Police are investigating but have not released any information.

People at the scene say gunmen intercepted the bus around noon Wednesday. They say the gunmen ordered screaming passengers to get off and shot the driver and his young assistant who collected fares. The gunmen left after pouring gasoline in the bus and setting it afire, burning the two victims.

The bus was traveling on the highway that runs between Acapulco and the resort of Zihuatanejo and was headed to the village of Pie de la Cuesta.

We at PRMG continue to advise extreme caution and the use of travel security for all people going to Mexico.

We offer travel security services to all of our clients and have a number of “just in case” safety options that can help.
